Safety Is The Key

Safety is the Key!

Feeling safe is a crucial key to releasing allergic reactions.

The longer I work with allergies, the more I realize that sensitivity reactions are often the direct or indirect effect of feeling unsafe in the world.

I tell my clients that the more unprotected a person feels by the outside world, the more their body believes it needs to increase protection from the inside.  In order to increase this protection from the inside, their immune system becomes hyper-vigilant and hyper-reactive.  Inflammation then increases as a way to heighten inside protection. The symptoms the person feels are these inflammatory responses.

Many of the people I work with have had difficult childhoods including problems during gestation, birth and the early years.  They felt unprotected by the adults in their family and environment.  They could not turn to their family for safety, support or love.  They have immune systems that are set on overdrive trying desperately to protect their body. These people need to have a way to reassure their immune system that it is now safe to let down its guard and relax- that they are now in a safe environment.

Dr. Izabella Wendz in her book, The Hashimoto Protocol, talks about how feeling unsafe in the world is involved in thyroid disease. She states that “ feeling unsafe keeps you from healing, as it puts us in a fight-or-flight mode.” Below are some of the negative beliefs she found prevalent in thyroid disease patients.

The world is a dangerous place.
People want to harm me.
I am not safe here.
I don’t deserve to be loved.
I need to protect myself.
No one values me.
No one will believe me.
I am not enough.

Ask & Receive can be used to release these negative beliefs. You merely insert the belief you want to release into the first line of the Ask & Receive sentences.

Here is an example of how to use Ask & Receive to release these negative beliefs.

There is a part of my being that already knows how to unhook and clear and dissolve through all of my ages (insert negative belief).

That part of my being is willing to inform the rest of me now.

It is doing so now with grace and ease.

My mind, body and spirit are receiving this information.

Information transfer is now complete.

Once you release the negative beliefs, it is important to instill positive beliefs. Here is an example of an Ask & Receive statement you can use to help reset the reactivity of the immune system. (Insert the age of your major trauma in the first line.)

There is a part of my being that already knows that even though I felt unprotected when I was (6 years old, at birth, when young…), my immune system no longer needs to overreact in order to protect me. I am safe.

That part of my being is willing to inform the rest of me now.

It is doing so now with grace and ease.

My mind, body and spirit are receiving this information.

Information transfer is now complete.

Our job when working with someone is to take them from feeling  feeling fear to safe.  One day I was looking at these two words when I noticed a very interesting connection. I realized that both words had the letter F.  Both words have the letter E.  Both words have the letter A. The only difference in the word fear and safe is R and S. And in our alphabet, the difference is really slight from the letter R to S.  It is just a little hop.  The same is true with moving from fear to safe.  It is just a little change from fear to safe but it makes a world of difference.

fear and safety

I suggest that when working with yourself or your clients, you directly target their feeling safe in the world. Feeling safe in the world will help a person in many and varied ways from releasing sensitivities to finding a job to healing their thyroid.

Love and gratitude,
